Overview

US Tip Calculator 2026 helps users estimate tips, tax, totals, and bill splits. The calculator works without registration, payment, newsletter signup, or account creation. We do not ask users to submit sensitive personal information.

Notice at Collection

At or before the point of collection, we describe the limited information this site may process:

• Calculator inputs: bill amount, tax rate, tip percentage, split count, service type, and tip mode. These are processed in the browser to show results. Bill amounts are not intentionally saved as preferences.
• Preference data: theme choice, last tax rate, last tip percentage, split count, service type, tip mode, and cookie consent choice may be stored in localStorage on your device.
• Device and usage data: hosting providers may automatically process standard server log data such as IP address, browser type, requested URL, timestamps, and basic security events.
• Contact information: if you email us, we receive the email address and information you choose to include.

We use this information to operate the calculator, remember non-personal preferences, maintain security, respond to messages, and comply with legal obligations.

LocalStorage, Cookies, and Similar Technologies

The site uses localStorage for non-personal preferences. LocalStorage remains on your device until you clear it, use browser controls, or reset site data. See our Cookie Policy for more detail.

Advertising and Google AdSense

Ads are not enabled by default. If Google AdSense or another advertising service is added later, this policy must be reviewed and updated before ad scripts are deployed.

If advertising is enabled, Google and third-party vendors may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, or similar technologies to serve ads based on users' visits to this and other websites. Users can manage Google ad personalization through Google Ad Settings. Users may also visit industry opt-out tools such as aboutads.info.

For users in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, Google policies may require a Google-certified consent management platform before serving certain ads. No such ad scripts are included in this project by default.

Analytics

Analytics are not enabled by default. If Google Analytics, Plausible, or another analytics provider is added later, the site owner should update this policy to describe the provider, data processed, retention, opt-out options, and consent requirements where applicable.

How We Share Information

We may share limited information with service providers that help operate, host, secure, or maintain the website. We may also disclose information if required by law, legal process, or to protect rights, security, and safety. We do not currently sell personal information or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

US State Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live and whether a law applies to this website operator, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information, and to opt out of certain sales, sharing, targeted advertising, or profiling. California residents can learn more from the California Attorney General's CCPA resources.

This site does not currently sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. If that changes, the site owner should update this policy, provide required notices, honor applicable opt-out preference signals such as Global Privacy Control where required, and maintain a clear privacy choices process.

Children's Privacy

This website is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

Retention

Preference data stored in localStorage stays on your device until you clear it. Contact emails may be retained as long as needed to respond and maintain records. Hosting and security logs are retained according to the relevant provider's operational and security practices.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures for a simple public website, including secure headers and minimal data collection. No website or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.
